Police probe fatal assault on foreign national in Blok M

Police are investigating a fatal assault on a foreign national, identified as MHF, in Blok M, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta.

‘We are monitoring the case and have received a police report,’ said Kebayoran Baru Police Chief AKBP Nugrahadi Kusuma to reporters in Jakarta on Tuesday.

He confirmed the incident and stated that a report had been received regarding the case. However, Nugrahadi did not provide further details on the sequence of events or the investigation process.

Previously, a video went viral on the Instagram account @viraljakartaselatan. In the circulating footage, a man was seen lying on the asphalt with injuries after a fight with a man dressed entirely in black. Several bystanders at the scene approached the victim and attempted to provide assistance.

The incident reportedly occurred around 2:00 am WIB on May 6, 2026, in the Blok M area. The victim, identified as foreign national MHF, sustained serious injuries to the back of his head and was admitted to the ICU before passing away.
