Police probe blast near food store
THAILAND: Police said on Sunday they were investigating a bomb
blast outside a food store in eastern Bangkok that killed three
people including a woman and her six-year-old son, and a police
officer.
The woman and her son were killed instantly on Saturday when
they disturbed a booby-trapped device containing the grenade,
while the police officer died in hospital overnight.
Five other passersby were injured when the bomb detonated at a
market in Bangkok's eastern outskirts.
However, investigators said Saturday they suspected the attack
was aimed at the owner of the food store who had failed to pay
significant gambling debts. --AFP
