The Traffic Police Unit (Satlantas) of Bogor Police District is preparing multiple traffic management schemes for vehicles in the Puncak tourist area, West Java, ahead of the 2026 Eid holiday exodus. These measures include one-way systems and intermittent closures across several road segments, targeting six congestion-prone points along the route to the area.

Head of Operations for the Bogor Police Traffic Unit, Inspector Ardian Novianto Azhari, stated that traffic management measures will be implemented when vehicle queues at specific points reach one to 1.5 kilometres.

“Once traffic slows and queues reach one to one and a half kilometres, we will implement segmented one-way or intermittent closure systems,” said Ardian at the Integrated Post at Gadog Junction, Ciawi District, Bogor Regency, on Saturday (14 March).

Ardian added that the scheme applies only to locations experiencing high vehicle congestion. The six priority points for police traffic management are Pasir Muncang, Megamendung Junction, Cisarua Market, Lokawiratama Junction, Jatiwangi, and Gunung Mas.

Segmented one-way systems typically last a maximum of 30 minutes on congested routes.

“We typically implement it for 30 minutes, then reopen the route. So it is not too long—just to clear the queue so it does not become excessively backed up,” explained Ardian.

If vehicle flow increases sharply, police may implement a full one-way system from Gadog Junction to the Cianjur border. Based on experience from Operation Ketupat 2025, full one-way systems are rarely implemented during Ramadan and are typically applied during peak congestion periods three to two days before Eid.

PT Jasa Marga (Persero) projects approximately 3.53 million vehicles will pass through Jakarta-Bogor-Tangerang exit gates via four main toll gates. Entering the seventh day before Eid 2026, long vehicle queues occurred at Pejagan Toll Gate in Brebes, Central Java, on Saturday (14 March) morning. Saturday evening is predicted to be the peak outbound travel period for the first wave of Central Java-bound travellers.

PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports), Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport branch, officially launched the Integrated Monitoring Post for 2026 Eid Holiday Transport Operations beginning Friday (13 March). On the first day of Operation Ketupat 2026, PT Jasa Marga recorded that some vehicles had already begun departing Jakarta via toll roads.
