Bogor (ANTARA) — The Traffic Unit of Bogor Police Resort (Polres) is preparing a traffic management scheme involving one-way traffic or partial opening and closing at six congestion-prone points along the route to Puncak tourist area in West Java during the 2026 Lebaran exodus.

The Head of the Traffic Unit Operations Section at Bogor Police, Inspector Ardian Novianto Azhari, stated that the vehicle traffic management scheme will be implemented when vehicle queues at certain points reach one to 1.5 kilometres.

“Once traffic slows down and queues reach one to one and a half kilometres, we will implement partial one-way or partial opening and closing,” Ardian told ANTARA at the Unified Post at Gadog Junction, Ciawi District, Bogor Regency, on Saturday.

According to him, the vehicle traffic management model will only be applied at points experiencing congestion on the Puncak route.

Six points of concern for police due to their susceptibility to vehicle traffic congestion are Pasir Muncang, Megamendung Junction, Cisarua Market, Lokawiratama Junction, Jatiwangi, and Gunung Mas.

“Usually we implement it for 30 minutes, then reopen the road. So it is not too long, just to clear the queues so they do not become too lengthy,” he said.

If vehicle traffic flow increases significantly, police can implement a full one-way system from Gadog Junction to the Cianjur border.

Based on data from the 2025 Ketupat Operation, police rarely implemented a full one-way traffic system during the month of Ramadan.

This system is typically implemented during periods of peak vehicle traffic congestion, particularly on the 3rd and 2nd days before Lebaran.
