Police Prepare Traffic Engineering in Priok to Anticipate Return Traffic Surge
Police are preparing traffic engineering towards Tanjung Priok Port. This is to anticipate the surge in return traffic from the 2026 Eid al-Fitr homecoming. The traffic engineering concept was discussed in a cross-sectoral coordination meeting at the VVIP Room of the Nusantara Pura Passenger Terminal, Tanjung Priok Port, on Thursday (26/3/2026), with representatives from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, PT Pelindo, and related stakeholders. Director of Traffic of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Komarudin, stated that the increase in traffic is expected to occur after 29 March 2026 when goods transport operations return to normal. “After the 29th, goods transport mobility will increase very significantly. This is what we must anticipate together,” said Komarudin in his statement received by detikcom. Furthermore, he explained that the police have prepared a pattern of traffic engineering and discretion that will be applied situationally. This traffic engineering refers to the previous year’s scheme with adjustments to field conditions. “We have prepared the pattern of engineering and discretion policies. They will be implemented according to the dynamics on the ground,” he clarified. This step is taken to maintain the smoothness of public mobility and logistics distribution in the port area. The public is urged to manage travel times, avoid peak hours, follow officer directions, and utilise alternative routes if necessary. “We hope the public can adjust travel times and follow officer instructions so that traffic flow remains smooth and controlled,” he concluded.
