The Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police (Polda Metro Jaya) are preparing security schemes for demonstrations scheduled for 2lar 24 September, which coincides with National Farmers’ Day.

To prepare for these security measures, the Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri, led a Tactical Floor Game (TFG) at Balai Sarbini, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (23/9).

“This TFG must be able to align perceptions and mature the entire security plan, ranging from personnel plotting, crowd escorting, traffic management, methods of action, communication, to directed operational control,” Aey said in his statement on Wednesday.

Polda Metro Jaya is also strengthening communication with field coordinators and continuously updating developments regarding the activities.

This coordination is a vital part of ensuring that the expression of aspirations can proceed in an orderly manner, while field personnel maintain a humanist, professional, and measured approach.

Furthermore, public mobility is also a priority. The Jakarta Metropolitan Police Traffic Unit (Ditlantas) is preparing 1,550 personnel across several areas, including Semanggi, Sudirman, the UOB area, Senayan, the DPR/MPR RI Building, the Horse Statue Roundabout, and Monas.

Meanwhile, traffic engineering will be implemented situationally if there is an increase in congestion or the closure of road sections due to activities at various locations.

Additionally, the Head of Public Relations for Polda Metro Jaya, Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto, stated that the police respect the public’s right to express opinions while ensuring that the rights of other citizens to carry out their activities are maintained.

“We respect the space for the public to convey their aspirations. At the same time, we also want to ensure that those working, attending school, or carrying out daily activities can continue to do so safely and comfortably,” he said.

The police also advise members of the public passing through the vicinity of the activities to adjust their travel times, pay attention to traffic information, consider alternative routes if necessary, and follow the directions of officers on the ground.

Polda Metro Jaya hopes that all activities on 24 September can proceed safely, orderly, and with mutual respect, so that the space for expressing aspirations and other public activities can coexist effectively.
