Police Prepare Security for Takbiran Night Until Eid Prayers
Cikampek — The Head of the Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps, Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, has emphasised that the police are preparing security for the entire Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah series, from takbiran nights to the Eid prayers. This initiative forms part of Operation Ketupat 2026.
He explained that the security measures do not solely focus on traffic flows but also encompass places of worship and community activity centres. Personnel are on standby at priority points.
“Operation Ketupat comprises five clusters. Places of worship, security posts, service posts, and integrated posts do not only monitor traffic flows but also secure the Eid al-Fitr celebrations, including takbiran and Eid prayers,” said Agus at the National Police Traffic Corps Command Centre in Cikampek on Thursday night (19/3/2026).
He detailed that the five clusters include toll roads, arterial roads, crossings, transport hubs such as terminals, airports, and stations, as well as places of worship. Security is also extended to routes leading to tourist areas expected to see increased mobility post-Lebaran.
Agus stressed that the security is intended to maintain a conducive situation during the Lebaran momentum. Personnel deployment is carried out at various vital objects and crowd points.
On the other hand, traffic conditions during the homecoming period remain under control, despite a surge in flows on Thursday afternoon (19/3/2026). The Traffic Corps continues to implement the national one-way system to ensure smooth vehicle movement on toll roads.
“As of now, the situation is quite under control. Earlier, from 10:00 to 11:00 WIB, there was a traffic surge, so the parameters used before and after the one-way showed different characteristics,” said Agus.
