Police Prepare Parking Areas for National Dhikr Event at Monas
The Metro Jaya Regional Police Traffic Directorate has announced several designated parking areas for participants attending the National Dhikr and Prayer event, held in honour of the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia at the National Monument (Monas) area, Central Jakarta, on Saturday.
According to the official TMC Polda Metro Jaya X account, these parking provisions are intended to support smooth mobility for participants and reduce traffic congestion around the event venue.
Parking locations have been categorised based on the participants’ regions of origin. For participants from the Jakarta Regional Office, parking is available around the Monas area. Meanwhile, participants from the West Java Regional Office are directed to park at the JIEXPO Kemayoran parking area, where drop-off and pick-up services will be conducted on Jalan Medan Merdeka Timur.
Participants from the Banten Regional Office will utilise the Aldiron parking area, with drop-off and pick-up points located at the Patung Kuda roundabout. Additionally, participants may utilise 21 other parking zones spread across Central Jakarta, including the National Gallery, Gambir Railway Station, Lapangan Banteng, Danareksa, and the Sapta Pesona building.
In conjunction with the event, the police have warned of an expected increase in vehicle volume and the implementation of traffic diversions on several roads around the Monas area. Consequently, members of the public travelling through Central Jakarta are advised to plan their journeys and choose alternative routes to avoid congestion.
Road users are also requested to follow traffic signs and instructions from officers on duty to maintain smooth traffic flow during the event. The event organisers have urged participants to use the designated parking areas according to their respective regions. Compliance with traffic regulations is expected to support order, security, and comfort throughout the proceedings. Participants and the public are also reminded to prioritise road safety and follow official directions to ensure the success of the 81st Independence Day celebrations.
