Police Prepare One-Way Traffic System on Parangtritis Beach Tourist Route During Eid Holiday
The Bantul Police Department has announced traffic management measures for Parangtritis Beach during the Eid holiday, particularly in the beach area. One-way traffic will be implemented at the toll collection point (TPR) if traffic congestion occurs.
Head of Public Relations at Bantul Police, Iptu Rita Hidayanto, stated that traffic management scenarios are focused on the Parangtritis Beach area, as it is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY).
“If there is traffic slowdown at the toll collection point, one-way traffic will be implemented,” she told reporters in Bantul on Friday (13 March 2026).
For vehicles exiting Parangtritis Beach, traffic will be diverted. Vehicles leaving the beach area will be directed through the Hotel Gandung three-way junction and then towards Depok Beach.
“From Depok Beach to the Ditpolair four-way junction, then left towards the Pengklik three-way junction. At Pengklik three-way junction, drivers can take Jalan Samas or head west via Kabanaran Bridge,” she explained.
If drivers wish to return to Yogyakarta city, police will direct them north via Jalan Samas. For drivers heading to Kulon Progo, particularly towards Yogyakarta International Airport, police will direct them via Kabanaran Bridge.
“There will also be personnel stationed at various points that serve as traffic diversion locations,” she added.
Furthermore, Rita revealed that Bantul Police Department has launched Operation Ketupat Progo 2026. A combined force of 500 personnel will be on standby throughout the Eid holiday period.
