The police are preparing one-way traffic management schemes to mitigate congestion during the Eid exodus and return migration in 2026 across Cimahi City and West Bandung Regency (KBB).

“There will certainly be traffic management with one-way restrictions on certain stretches from north to south or from west to east and vice versa,” said Cimahi Police Chief AKBP Niko Nurallah Adi Putra when confirmed on Friday, 13 March 2026.

The jurisdiction of Cimahi Police, covering Cimahi City and West Bandung Regency, constitutes a major transit route for holiday travellers typically heading from Jakarta-Bogor-Sukabumi-Cianjur via Cipatat-Padalarang Road towards Cimahi and Bandung. Additional routes include traffic from Karawang-Purwakarta-Cikalongwetan-Padalarang-Cimahi-Bandung via Purwakarta Road, as well as from Subang via Lembang to Bandung and onward to the Priangan region including Garut, Tasikmalaya and surrounding areas.

Police have already mapped routes classified as red zones for congestion, requiring special focus based on evaluation of the 2025 migration period. Three critical trouble spots have been identified: Pasar Tagog Apu, Simpang Cimareme, and Simpang Beatrik.

“These three trouble spots require concentrated attention,” said Niko. “For Cimahi specifically, the trouble spots are more related to informal street vendors rather than permanent markets.”
