The Indonesian National Police (Polri) has prepared the Free Precision Return 2026 programme as part of the Operation Ketupat 2026 series. The programme aims to create safe outbound and return travel during the Eid holiday period under the motto “Safe Journey, Happy Family” in line with directives from National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.

The Head of the Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) Irjen Agus Suryonugroho stated that the programme, prepared in conjunction with the Metro Jaya Regional Police and Traffic Directorates of regional police forces, aims to maintain security, safety, order, and traffic flow. The free return programme is also expected to reduce traffic accident figures during the 2026 Eid return period.

“We are preparing the Free Precision Return 2026 programme to realise security, safety, order, and traffic flow whilst reducing traffic accidents during the Eid return period,” said Irjen Agus in a statement on Monday 16 March 2026.

According to him, the programme is also expected to reduce the use of motorcycles and private vehicles that could increase congestion on return routes.

“Through this free transport facility, the public is expected to return to their destination cities more safely and comfortably,” he said.

The Free Precision Return 2026 programme targets several population groups, including non-formal sector workers, factory workers, low-income migrants, ride-hailing drivers and their families, as well as students.

To participate in this programme, the public can register online via website, application, or digital forms provided. Additionally, registration can also be done directly at regional police headquarters, district police stations, as well as security and service posts available during Operation Ketupat 2026.

In its implementation, programme socialisation will be conducted through various channels, ranging from social media, banners, billboards to community groups. Promotional materials will also include traffic safety education with the message “Safe Journey, Happy Family” as well as information on registration procedures and departure schedules.

On the departure day, participants are required to arrive at least three hours before the scheduled travel time to complete re-registration and identity verification. Participants will then proceed with the boarding process according to bus numbers and follow safety briefings before the journey begins.

The Free Precision Return 2026 programme uses bus transport with a capacity of approximately 50 passengers. Travel routes are focused on priority return traffic corridors adjusted to the conditions of each police region.

Irjen Agus added that this programme is also part of Polri’s efforts to enhance public services during Operation Ketupat 2026.

“Through this programme it is hoped that return travel can proceed safely, orderly, and smoothly so that the public can return to their workplaces safely,” he said.

The Traffic Corps Polri together with the Metro Jaya Regional Police and Traffic Directorates of regional police forces have prepared the Free Precision Return 2026 programme as part of support for the smooth flow of outbound and return travel during Eid.
