Police Prepare Arrow-Resistant Uniforms for Officers in Conflict Areas

JAKARTA - Indonesian National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo stated that the police are preparing new equipment in the form of uniforms and personal protective gear for members assigned to conflict-prone areas, including regions frequently subjected to arrow attacks.

He mentioned that during the National Police Logistics Coordination Meeting, the capabilities of the new equipment, which can protect members from arrow attacks, were demonstrated.

“So one of them is how to ensure that when there is an attack, one of which in areas where conflicts often occur, which frequently use arrows, it was demonstrated earlier and Alhamdulillah with the new equipment, our members can avoid potential arrow attacks,” said the Police Chief during a press conference at the Slog Police Meeting Hall, East Jakarta, on Tuesday (12/5/2026).

In addition to protection from arrows, Sigit noted that the new equipment is also prepared to face other threats such as Molotov cocktail throws and shootings.

“Of course, our hope is that our members are also equipped with various personal safety tools to face potential challenges in the field,” he said.

“Whether it is from Molotov throws, then also shootings, and of course all kinds of things that endanger members,” he continued.

According to him, the provision of this equipment aims to make police members more confident when carrying out security and public service tasks.

Sigit explained that the laboratory is equipped with various tools to ensure that all equipment used by personnel meets the standards set by the police.

“It contains equipment used to check and ensure the quality of the uniforms given to members truly meets the specifications required by the police,” revealed the Police Chief.
