Police pray for safe election

BANDUNG: About 3,000 police officers gathered on Sunday at the West Java Police Headquarters to pray for a safe July 5 presidential election.

"The prayer session was to ask God for protection while carrying out our duties in securing the presidential election," West Java Police chief Insp. Gen. Edi Darnadi said.

"We prayed for the safety of our personnel and their families at home," he said.

All regency police chiefs in the province attended the prayer, which was led by Muslim cleric Habib Abdullah Assegaf from Bogor. -- Antara
