Police: Perpetrators Seek Revenge Against Nus Kei Over 2020 Murder in Bekasi

Police have disclosed the motive behind the revenge attack involving the stabbing of Agrapinus Rumatora, alias Nus Kei (59), Chairman of the Golkar Party’s Southeast Maluku Branch Council. “The perpetrators’ motive is revenge. The two suspects harboured a grudge because the victim, Nus Kei, was the mastermind behind the murder of their brother, Fenansius Wadanubun, alias Dani Holat,” said the Head of Public Relations of Maluku Regional Police, Commissioner Rositah Umasugi, when contacted on Monday (20/4). Rositah stated that the murder allegedly orchestrated by Nus Kei occurred in Jakarta in 2020. “The incident took place in 2020 in Jakarta, next to the Metro Galaxy Apartment, Kalimalang, Bekasi,” she said. Agrapinus Rumatora, alias Nus Kei, Chairman of the Golkar Party’s Southeast Maluku Branch in Maluku, died after being stabbed by unidentified assailants at Karel Sadsuitubun Airport. The incident occurred in the airport area in Kei Kecil Subdistrict on Sunday (19/4) around 11:25 WIT. At the time, Nus Kei had just arrived after a flight from Jakarta. “The stabbing offence resulted in the death of the Chairman of the Golkar Party’s Southeast Maluku Regency Branch, Agrapinus Rumatora, alias Nus Kei,” said Rositah. Rositah mentioned that during the incident, the perpetrator suddenly attacked the victim with a sharp weapon before fleeing the scene. “Suddenly, the victim was stabbed by an unidentified person using a knife. The suspected perpetrator immediately fled after the incident,” she stated. The victim was then taken to Karel Sadsuitubun Hospital around 12:00 WIT for medical assistance. However, his life could not be saved due to the wounds he sustained. “He was treated at the hospital, but the medical team declared the victim deceased due to the injuries he suffered,” she concluded.
