Police Patrol in Cilincing, North Jakarta, Detains Two Youths on Suspicion of Motorcycle Theft
A patrol team from the Metro Jaya Police Mobile Brigade (Satbrimob) and the Precision Patrol Team (TP3) of the North Jakarta Metro Police detained two youths in Cilincing, North Jakarta. Both were detained because the motorcycle they were riding did not match the frame number stated on its vehicle registration document (STNK).
Metro Jaya Police Brimob Commander, Senior Commissioner Henik Maryanto, stated that patrols are continuously conducted to anticipate disturbances to public order and security, especially during vulnerable hours. The operation initially involved officers checking several high-risk points in the Kelapa Gading to Cilincing areas.
“This routine patrol is a preventive measure as well as law enforcement. Every violation found in the field will be followed up according to procedure to keep the situation safe and conducive,” Henik told reporters on Sunday (26/7/2026).
The joint team then stopped several suspicious vehicles. They discovered a vehicle whose physical identity did not match its documents, leading to the rider’s detention.
“While conducting checks in the BKT area, officers found a vehicle with mismatched identification, so two youths along with one motorcycle and two mobile phones were taken to the Cilincing Police Sector for further processing,” he stated.
Henik noted that joint Brimob patrols have frequently succeeded in preventing criminal acts. Besides preventing street crime, these routine operations also uncover various legal violations that have the potential to disrupt public safety.
The Indonesian National Police urges the public to immediately report any disturbances to public order and security via the Police Call Centre 110.
