Police Patrol Arrests 15 Youths in East Jakarta Brawl, 7 Celurit Seized

Polda Metro Jaya’s Jaga Jakarta Precision Initiative patrol team arrested 15 youths suspected of involvement in a brawl in East Jakarta, with officers seizing celurit, mobile phones, and motorcycles. The operation took place from Friday (29/5) evening to Saturday (30/5) early morning, with suspects apprehended in Pulogadung and Cakung.

“The team discovered a group of youths suspected of involvement in a brawl. Officers then pursued and secured the suspects along with evidence,” said Police Commissioner Wahyu Dwi Ariwibowo, Director of Security and Public Order of Polda Metro Jaya, in a statement on Saturday (30/5/2026).

Eleven individuals were apprehended on Jalan Persahabatan Timur in Pulogadung, having attempted to flee and hide in a resident’s house. Police seized five celurit of various sizes, five mobile phones, and one motorcycle, with the weapons hidden above the bathroom ceiling.

At another location, the Precision Initiative team apprehended four youths in Cakung, seizing two celurit, two mobile phones, and three motorcycles.

“In total, seven celurit of various sizes, seven mobile phones, and four motorcycles were seized. The suspects and evidence have been handed over to the local police station for further investigation,” he explained.

Commissioner Wahyu urged the public to report any potential brawls or public order disturbances immediately, with reports to be submitted to the nearest police station or via Call Center 110.
