Police parking lot closed

JAKARTA (JP): The parking lot in front of the City Traffic
Police Directorate has been closed temporarily due to
preparations for a ceremony on Friday for the inauguration of
Jakarta's new police chief.

According to city police spokesman Lt. Col. Bambang Haryoko,
the parking area is being used by personnel who are rehearsing
exercises to perform during Friday's ceremony.

During the ceremony, National Police chief Gen. Banurusman
Astrosemitro will install the current city police deputy chief
Brig. Gen. Dibyo Widodo as the new head of Greater Jakarta police
area, replacing Maj. Gen. Mochammad Hindarto.

Despite the closure of the parking lot, all public services,
including the processing of vehicle documents and licenses, are
still provided, Bambang said.

The parking lot will be reopened for the public on Saturday.
