Police Open Digital Space for Gen Z and Alpha with Mobile Legends and AI Animation Competitions
As part of the 80th Bhayangkara Day celebrations, the Indonesian National Police (Polri) held the ‘Polri Creation Appreciation for the Community’ event. The awards form part of Polri’s service to all elements of society.
Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, Head of Public Information at the Polri Public Relations Division, said the appreciation given by National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo was not merely an award. The Polri Creation Appreciation for the Community is a tangible manifestation of Polri’s presence in society.
‘This is certainly part of a series that is not just an award, but also brings together a space for achievement, innovation and service,’ Trunoyudo said after the event at The Tribrata, South Jakarta, Tuesday (11/8/2026).
‘These works were born from activities carried out together with the state in a representative manner, especially Polri together with all elements of society,’ he continued.
In this year’s creation appreciation activity, Trunoyudo said there was something different compared to previous years. This year, he said, General Sigit also opened a digital space for Generation Z and Alpha to create and receive awards.
‘Specifically this year, we are also opening a digital space for Gen Z and Alpha. This is a shared concern because Gen Z and Alpha are the golden generation in 2045. So the National Police Chief today presented awards,’ Trunoyudo said.
He detailed the forms of creative appreciation given by Polri to the public this year. First, the Public Creation and Communication category by the Polri Public Relations Division with a total of 1,667 participants.
This competition category consists of short story writing, TikTok, photography, songwriting, storytelling, educational videos, infographics and journalistic articles. In addition, there is also an AI (Artificial Intelligence) animation competition as a manifestation of Polri’s commitment to an equal, inclusive and disability-friendly creative space.
Second, the Community Potential Development category by the Polri Community Development Corps with a total of 2,319 participants, featuring competitions for exemplary community police officers, exemplary security guards, exemplary special police officers, exemplary neighbourhood watch schemes and the Three Pillars of Community Security.
Furthermore, in the Food Security category by Polri’s Human Resources Division, which was attended internally by 36 regional police forces, there were competitions for land expansion and corn production. There were also competitions for Bulog corn absorption, food security media management and innovation.
‘The Drug-Free Village Competition by the Polri Criminal Investigation Agency was attended by all regional police forces. There were 33 regional police forces, each represented by one urban ward with a total population of 367,704 people. The Local Wisdom category was carried out by the Polri Intelligence and Security Agency with a total of 300 participants. There was also a Cleanliness Competition by Polri’s General Services Division internally, attended by 22 Polri work units,’ Trunoyudo explained.
Meanwhile, the digital space for Generation Z and Alpha, which is this year’s distinguishing feature, includes the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang e-sports competition as well as several supporting competitions. These supporting competitions range from The Village character cosplay, KOL or influencer, Hunt Pokemon and Rebound Trading Card Game, Custom Cosplay Competition, Polri Youth Movement, to Capture the Flag.
‘This is certainly a joint effort by all elements of society and Polri in line with the 80th Bhayangkara Day tagline, where this appreciation and creation is from Polri for the community,’ he concluded.
National Police Chief Presents Awards Directly
The main moment of the event was marked by the direct presentation of award certificates by National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo to the first-place representatives from each competition category. Accompanying the National Police Chief in the certificate presentation and photo session were the Deputy National Police Chief, the Daily Chair of the National Police Commission, the Chief of General Staff of the Indonesian National Armed Forces, the Polri General Supervision Inspector and the Head of the Polri Public Relations Division.
This event served as an inclusive space for all levels of society. In the competitions held by the Polri Public Relations Division, for example, winners came from various backgrounds. From the painting category for people with disabilities won by Bani Hidayat from West Kalimantan, to the short story, photography, journalistic article and AI animation categories.
Meanwhile, the Polri Criminal Investigation Agency awarded appreciation to winners of Capture The Flag, Mobile Legends, and Taba Tebelet Village (Bengkulu) as a Drug-Free Village. The Polri Community Development Corps also presented awards for Exemplary Security Guard, Exemplary Special Police Officer, and Polda Metro Jaya as Exemplary Neighbourhood Watch.
In the national programme strengthening sector, Polri’s Human Resources Division announced East Java Regional Police as the Overall Champion of Cluster I of the Food Security Competition. Meanwhile, the Polri General Supervision Inspectorate awarded Palmerah Nutrition Fulfilment Service Unit and East Java Regional Police for the best governance and innovation supporting the Free Nutritious Meals programme. For internal cleanliness, Polri’s General Services Division named the Polri Intelligence and Security Agency as first-place winner.
Through these awards, Polri hopes to continue encouraging public innovation, strengthening the positive image of the police, and increasing community participation in maintaining shared security and order.
