Metro Jaya Police have officially withdrawn the suspect status of Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar in the case of allegations of a fake diploma belonging to Indonesia’s 7th President Joko Widodo.

Director of General Criminal Investigation at Metro Jaya Police, Senior Commissioner Iman Imanuddin, stated that he had issued a termination of investigation order (SP3) against Rismon.

“We have issued a termination of investigation order against suspect Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar dated 14 April 2026,” he said during a press conference on Friday (17/4).

Iman explained that the issuance was carried out after Rismon and Jokowi’s side agreed to a peaceful settlement through the restorative justice mechanism.

He detailed that a special case review for halting the case had also been conducted, attended by both parties at Metro Jaya Police headquarters.

“The implementation of the special case review under the restorative justice mechanism for suspect Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar took place on 8 April 2026,” he clarified.

Nevertheless, Iman emphasised that the defamation case through allegations of a fake diploma continues for the other suspects.

On Wednesday (1/4), Rismon was known to have visited Metro Jaya Police to sign the Restorative Justice (RJ) agreement with the complainant’s side.

The agreement occurred after Rismon met with Jokowi in Solo on Thursday (12/3) and Gibran Rakabuming Raka at the Vice Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Friday (13/3).

Rismon affirmed that the RJ process was conducted without pressure from any party. He stated that this was purely the result of recent research findings regarding the authenticity of Jokowi’s diploma.

“Today, the RJ process is without coercion or intervention from any party. I explained it to my lawyer Jahmada Girsang, and then it was processed at Metro Jaya Police,” Rismon told reporters.

“So there is no influence from anyone; it’s purely from my new research that involves variables such as geometry, lighting, and resolution variables,” he added.
