Police Officer Suspected of Sexual Violence in Wonogiri Faces Dishonourable Discharge

Wonogiri Police Chief AKBP Wahyu Sulistyo has revealed that his department is seeking to expedite the ethics hearing for Bripka E (37), a member of the force who has been named a suspect in an alleged sexual violence case. According to Wahyu, Bripka E faces the sanction of a dishonourable discharge (PTDH).

Wahyu stated that the Wonogiri Police Professional and Internal Affairs Division (Propam) is currently gathering evidence and witness statements for the purposes of the ethics hearing against Bripka E. "We will accelerate the hearing immediately. The maximum threat for the ethical violation is PTDH," he said during an interview on Tuesday (21/7/2026).

He added that in addition to witnesses, the Wonogiri Police Propam would also examine and take statements from the alleged victim. Although the case file is being prepared by the Wonogiri Police Propam, Wahyu could not yet confirm whether the ethics hearing for Bripka E would be held at the Wonogiri Police headquarters or the Central Java Regional Police.

"Regarding the hearing, whether it will be at the Regional Police or the Resort Police, we will look into it later to ensure there are no conflicts of interest and so forth," Wahyu said.

He explained that the case involving Bripka E has become a priority for the Wonogiri Police. "Because sexual harassment is a priority case, we are accelerating the ethics hearing process without waiting for processes such as, for example, having to wait for a legally binding verdict or a sentence first. We are processing it directly," he stated.

Nevertheless, the criminal investigation into Bripka E is also continuing. "What is clear is that the criminal process is still running. Everything is proceeding simultaneously," Wahyu said.
