A police officer identified by the initials Bripda P has been named a suspect in a case of alleged assault against Bripda DP (19) at the South Sulawesi (Sulsel) Regional Police dormitory, which resulted in the death of the recently graduated non-commissioned officer.

“We have currently secured one person as a suspect with the initials P, holding the rank of Bripda, who is a senior of the victim,” said the South Sulawesi Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Djuhandhani Rahardjo Puro, at the Pinrang Police Station on Monday (23 February).

Meanwhile, the General Criminal Investigation Directorate of the South Sulawesi Regional Police is continuing its examination of five individuals connected to the case.

“We are still looking into the involvement of others. We are currently conducting intensive examinations of five more people to determine the extent of their connection,” he stated.

He added that Bripda P was named a suspect based on the officer’s own admission.

“But it is not just that. The results of P’s examination have been cross-referenced with the findings from medical personnel, and there is consistency — both regarding the manner of striking the head and other parts of the body are in alignment,” he explained.

Investigators from the Professional and Security Division (Propam) of the South Sulawesi Regional Police have examined six police officers in connection with the death of Bripda DP (19), who is suspected of having been a victim of violence by senior colleagues.

“Yes, currently six people are being examined, and the number may increase,” said the Head of Propam at the South Sulawesi Regional Police, Commissioner Zulham Efendy, on Sunday (22 February).

Bripda DP was a graduate of the 2025 non-commissioned officer training programme and had been assigned to the Samapta Directorate of the South Sulawesi Regional Police.
