Police Officer Caught in Bekasi Corruption Vortex: From Witness to Alleged Project Intermediary
The name of an active police officer has surfaced in the swirl of a corruption case in the Bekasi Regency government. From the courtroom to official police statements, his role is gradually being uncovered—not merely as a witness, but also allegedly as a project connector. The case ensnaring Ade Kuswara has opened a new chapter: when enforcers become entangled in the corruption they should oversee. The name Yayat Sudrajat alias “Lippo” emerged during the trial at the Bandung Corruption Court on Wednesday (8/4/2026). The Head of Public Relations at Depok Police Resort, Made Budi, confirmed that Yayat’s summons relates to the ongoing case. “Yes, that’s correct; the individual was called as a witness in connection with that case,” said Made. Amid the spotlight, another fact emerged: Yayat remains an active police member. “He is currently registered as a member of the Cimanggis Sector Police. There is no information regarding this (resignation),” Made stated. He is said to be assigned to the Intelligence and Security Unit of the Cimanggis Sector Police. In the trial, Yayat acknowledged his role as a project intermediary. He connected private parties with departments in Bekasi Regency. From that role, he took a profit of 7 percent from each project successfully secured. Corruption Eradication Commission investigators calculated the total flow of funds he received at Rp 16 billion from 2022 to 2025. This figure indicates that his role was not insignificant in the chain of events.
