Police Officer Becomes Victim of Motorcycle Gang in Serang City, Struck by Metal Bar

An officer from the Banten Regional Police, Teguh Ambita Maulana, was targeted by a group of youths believed to be a motorcycle gang in Walantaka District, Serang City, Banten. The incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday, 5 March 2026, at around 02:00 local time, as the officer was riding his motorcycle in Kampung Bandung, Pangampelan.

The Walantaka Police Sector Chief, AKP Dulhak, said the incident involved a group of about ten youths on five motorcycles. As Teguh overtook the group, suddenly from behind he was struck with a metal bar that resembled a sharp weapon. The blow hit the motorcycle and caused the victim’s bag to tear.

Teguh then dismounted from his motorcycle and secured two of the perpetrators. The other youths fled after realising that Teguh was a police officer. “After realising that he was a member of the police, the other perpetrators fled. He managed to secure two people, who were then brought to Walantaka Police Station,” Dulhak said.

As a result of the incident, Teguh did not suffer injuries and only sustained material losses.
