Police Officer at KPK and Father Extorted Pemalang Regent by Leaking Information
The Corruption Eradasting Commission (KPK) has disclosed the methods used by a police officer, Setya Budi Dias, who is currently serving as an administrative staff member at the KPK, and his father, Lilik Budi Suprianto, to allegedly extort the Regent of Pemalang, Anom Widiyantoro.
Acting Director of Investigations at the KPK, Achmad Taufik Husein, explained that Lilik initially met with Anom alongside a trusted associate named Mohamad Haris, also known as Gus Haris. During the meeting, Lilik used his son’s position within the KPK to leak information regarding ongoing investigations being conducted by the KPK in the Pemalang Regency.
Taufik stated that Lilik was able to access information about the investigations in Pemalang because Setya had shared details with his father. As the son had access to various administrative processes within the KPK, this information was passed to Lilik, which subsequently served as the leverage for his extortion attempts against the Regent.
It is alleged that Anom believed the information provided by Lilik, especially after the father demonstrated proof that his son was indeed employed at the KPK. Lilik also presented administrative documents that were directly related to the handling of cases in Pemalang.
The KPK has stated that investigators will look deeper into whether Setya and his father have engaged in similar practices with other parties or in different regions.
Previously, on 28 July 2026, the KPK conducted its 18th sting operation of the year. Among the 21 individuals arrested during the operation was Anom Widiyantoro. The KPK subsequently brought 14 of the 21 detainees to Jakarta for further interrogation, comprising five individuals arrested in Jakarta, eight from Pemalang, and one from Purworejo.
