Pandra stated that the police presence at the hospital represents an expression of empathy. The police came to provide moral support and ensure the victim receives proper care.

“We are ensuring that the legal proceedings against the suspect continue in accordance with applicable regulations,” he added.

Dr Nadia, the attending physician at RSUD Arifin Achmad, stated that the victim underwent surgery on her forehead and hand on Thursday, 26 February. The victim is currently in a stable condition with full consciousness.

The stabbing incident occurred on the second floor of the Faculty of Islamic Law and Jurisprudence at UIN Suska on Thursday, 26 February in the morning. The victim was waiting for her thesis defence when she was suddenly stabbed by R.

The assailant was apprehended immediately thanks to the quick response of students and security personnel. The victim was immediately taken to hospital.

R has been designated as a suspect. He is being held at Pekanbaru Police Station to answer for his actions.

“The motive is currently being attributed to romantic reasons, based on the suspect’s statement,” said Kombes Muharman.
