Police Offer Free Vehicle Storage Service for Residents During Mudik in Bogor
The public can store vehicles they will leave behind during mudik (homecoming) at police offices in Bogor Regency, West Java. Vehicles can be deposited at either the Polres (regional police office) or the nearest Polsek (local police station).
“In order to provide a sense of security and the best service to the community, Gunung Putri Polsek is opening a motor vehicle storage service for residents who will be travelling or leaving their homes (mudik) for a certain period,” said Gunung Putri Polsek Chief Kompol Aulia Robby on Wednesday (18 March 2026).
According to him, the service is provided free of charge. It is hoped that the service will help residents concerned about the security of their vehicles whilst they are away during mudik.
“Residents who wish to store their vehicles simply need to come directly to Gunung Putri Polsek office with their ID card and vehicle registration document as proof of lawful ownership,” he explained.
Police officers will then inspect the vehicle and its documentation. Stored vehicles will be placed in a secure location with proper safeguards.
“To ensure security, every vehicle stored will be chained with special locks and placed in a location monitored by CCTV cameras 24 hours a day. In addition, the storage area is also under direct supervision by police personnel on duty,” he said.
Similarly, Megamendung Polsek Chief AKP Desi Triana made the same point. Residents can come to her office with their vehicle and proof of ownership.
“I urge residents to deposit their personal vehicles at the Polsek rather than at home if they will not be used during mudik and the house will be left empty during mudik,” she said.
This measure is being taken to maintain security and order during the Eid holiday period in accordance with directions from Bogor Polres Chief AKBP Wikha Ardilestanto. He also appealed to the community to cooperate and report any security disturbances they encounter.
