Police Obtain Identities of Suspects in Acid Attack on KontraS Activist, Differing from TNI Version

Police have obtained the identities of two perpetrators in the acid attack on Andrie Yunus, Deputy Coordinator of the Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (KontraS). The two suspects are initialled BHC and MAK.

Director of General Criminal Investigation at Metro Jaya Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Iman Imanuddin, stated that his team has examined 15 witnesses related to the acid attack case. Additionally, police have analysed CCTV recordings. The results indicate that the two individuals suspected of throwing acid at Andrie are BHC and MAK.

“From the Polri Single Data, one initial BHC, two initial MAK,” he said at Metro Jaya Regional Police headquarters on Wednesday (18/3/2026).

Nevertheless, police suspect that the attack was not carried out by just two people. Therefore, they are still investigating the possibility of other perpetrators involved in the acid attack.

“From our investigation results, it does not rule out the possibility that the perpetrators could be more than four, as per the initial information we provided to fellow media,” he said.

Iman added that police have opened a complaint service with numbers 110 and 081285599191 for the public to provide information related to the case. According to him, every piece of information from the public will be very useful in the investigation process.
