Police Name Two Suspects in South Sumatra Bus Crash That Killed 19

The investigation into the collision between an ALS bus and a fuel tanker truck in North Musi Rawas (Muratara), South Sumatra, which killed 19 people, is progressing. Police have now named two suspects.

This was confirmed by the Head of the Muratara Police Traffic Unit, AKP M Abdul Karim. He stated that his team has named two suspects in the fatal accident: the owner of the fuel tanker truck company and the director of PT ALS.

“We have conducted a case review, but an official release has not yet been made. However, the two have been named as suspects,” said AKP Karim.

During the investigation, Karim said the two suspects have not yet complied with police summons for questioning. He noted that over the past two months, police have travelled to Medan and Java to carry out the investigation.

“There is no halt to the case; it is ongoing. Approximately 50 witnesses have been examined so far,” he stated.

Karim added that his team will soon hold a press conference regarding the progress of the fatal accident case.
