The West Java Regional Police have named three individuals as suspects in connection with a lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) party at the Theatre Night Mart nightclub in Karawang Regency. A video of the gay party had previously gone viral on social media.

“We have now secured three suspected perpetrators of these same-sex obscene acts, namely SA, RD, and DD. We are currently conducting intensive examinations of the individuals caught in the circulating video,” said the Head of Public Relations for the West Java Police, Senior Commissioner Hendra Rochmawan, in Bandung on Tuesday (9/6/2026).

Hendra stated that investigators have also examined seven witnesses, including the owner of the nightclub, to deepen the investigation into the case that went viral on social media. According to him, the investigation results show that the video was recorded on Sunday (7/6) at around 1:00 a.m. Western Indonesia Time. Police then conducted further inquiries by examining a number of witnesses, including the nightclub owner.

Hendra explained that investigators have coordinated with the prosecutor’s office regarding the application of the articles to be charged against the suspected perpetrators. “From the results of this coordination, we have reached an agreement, namely Article 406 and Article 414 of the Criminal Code. Article 406 relates to indecent acts in a public place and in front of others, carrying a penalty of 2 years and 6 months in prison. Then Article 414 relates to obscene acts, carrying a penalty of 9 years in prison,” he said.

Previously, the public was shocked by the circulation of a 12-second video believed to have recorded a same-sex party at a nightclub in Karawang Regency. In the video, a number of men can be seen dancing in pairs, hugging, and kissing in the nightclub area.
