Police Name SAM as Suspect in Alleged Sexual Harassment Case

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The National Police’s Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri) has named a man with the initials SAM as a suspect in an alleged sexual harassment case.

The Head of the Public Information Bureau (Karopenmas) of the Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, stated that the suspect was named following a case review based on a police report received at the end of 2025.

“Based on the case review conducted by investigators on the basis of police report number: LP/B/586/XI/2025/SPKT/Bareskrim Polri dated 28 November 2025, the investigators have named Mr SAM as a suspect,” Trunoyudo told reporters on Friday (24/4/2026).

Investigators have also informed the complainant of the case developments via a Notification of Investigation Progress Letter (SP2HP) dated 22 April 2026.

“In order to provide protection and services to the victim, investigators have conducted the investigation process through the Directorate of Sexual Violence and Child Protection (Dittipid PPA and PPO) of Bareskrim Polri,” Trunoyudo explained.

The case previously garnered public attention after being reported by several victims through their legal representatives.

The victims’ lawyer, Benny Jehadu, stated that there are five victims in this case.

“For our clients, there are five victims. The reported individual has the initials SAM,” Benny said some time ago at Bareskrim Polri.

The alleged incidents occurred over a considerable period, from 2017 to 2025, and took place at various different locations.

“Because this case actually involves sexual harassment against males, same-sex individuals,” Benny said.
