Jakarta (ANTARA) - Police have named five suspects in the case of alleged prostitution involving underage girls at a karaoke venue in the Daan Mogot Street area, North Kedoya, Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta (Jakbar). “At present, we have detained five suspects,” said the Head of the Women’s and Children’s Protection and Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (PPA-PPO) of the Metro Jakarta Barat Police Resort, Kompol Nunu Suparmi, when contacted in Jakarta on Thursday (14/5). She stated that her unit conducted a raid on 9 May 2026, securing 22 people. “There were LCs (lady companions), pimps, and a cashier. Of the 22 secured, two were underage girls with initials F (17 years old) and S (16 years old). These children came from Lampung and Bogor,” Nunu revealed. She mentioned that the entertainment venue held a licence as a karaoke business, but there were suspicions of prostitution practices there. “Yes, we received reports that it was a karaoke place, with a karaoke licence. But after our examination, it turned out that prostitution was being arranged by the owner,” Nunu said. The victims, she added, had been working there for two to three years. “At present, we are still conducting investigations and developing leads to find other suspects,” Nunu stated. To date, the venue has been sealed for further legal proceedings.
