Police nab suspect in Marriott bombing
JAKARTA: Police have arrested a Malaysian national for his alleged role in the 2003 JW Marriott Hotel bombing here.
National Police Director of Antiterror Division Brig. Gen. Pranowo Dahlan said on Wednesday that the suspect, identified as Saptu Roni, was accused of withholding information about the bombing and using a fake passport and other immigration documents to enable him to stay in Indonesia.
Pranowo said the man was also believed to have been involved in other bomb attacks in the country over the past few years.
Asked about the reported arrest of two Filipinos in connection with the Marriott blast, Pranowo said he could not confirm it. -- JP
