Police: Motorcycle Convoy That Breached Casablanca Flyover Linked to 'Youth Night Style' Community
The Jakarta Metropolitan Police Traffic Directorate has apprehended 11 motorcyclists who vandalised a barrier and illegally entered the Casablanca Non-Toll Flyover (JLNT) in South Jakarta. Police have identified the riders as members of a community called ‘Youth Night Style’.
“It’s a community — a community that enjoys creating content. Their hobby is hanging out together. It’s not a gang; it’s a community called Youth Night Style,” said Head of the Traffic Directorate’s Law Enforcement Subdivision, Senior Commissioner Ojo Ruslani, speaking to reporters on Tuesday (24/2/2026).
Ojo said his team is still tracking down several vehicles involved in the incident. Based on their investigation, an estimated 20 motorcyclists are believed to have taken part.
“We are examining the circulating video footage. From that video, we can determine how many motorcycles were involved — approximately 20,” Ojo explained.
The 11 motorcyclists who have been apprehended were arrested across different areas, including Jatinegara in East Jakarta, Petamburan in Central Jakarta, and Jagakarsa in South Jakarta.
“Together with the individuals — we have secured 11 people from Jagakarsa, Petamburan, and Jatinegara, among other locations,” Ojo said in a statement on Monday (23/2).
Went Viral on Social Media
The actions of the group of motorcyclists who allegedly vandalised the Casablanca Flyover barrier went viral on social media. The Jakarta Metropolitan Police are currently investigating the incident.
From posts circulating online, one motorcyclist could be seen burning the rope securing the flyover’s barrier. Once the barrier was open, the group of riders swarmed onto the flyover road.
“Time for people to enjoy showing off,” read the caption on the video.
The motorcyclists were seen wearing black hoodies bearing the words ‘Youth Style’, ‘Confused’, and ‘Stressed’. Most of the group had also removed the number plates from their vehicles.
The incident was reportedly carried out solely to create content. The group rode in convoy along the road, with several riders visibly lacking number plates and not wearing helmets.
For reference, motorcycles and other two-wheeled vehicles are prohibited from using the Casablanca Non-Toll Flyover. The flyover is designated exclusively for four-wheeled vehicles or larger, with signage clearly posted at the location.
