The South Sumatra Regional Police (Polda Sumsel) launched the BELIDA programme (Clean Environment and Neat) as a demonstration of support for the national Clean Indonesia movement (Aman, Sehat, Resik, Indah - Safe, Healthy, Clean, Beautiful). The activities took place at Indralaya Weighbridge Terminal in Ogan Ilir Regency on Saturday 28 February 2026.

The programme was led directly by South Sumatra Regional Police Chief Inspector General Sandi Nugroho, accompanied by Deputy Chief Brigadier General Rony Samtana and all senior officials of Polda Sumsel. Several elements of the regional coordination forum (Forkopimda) attended, including South Sumatra Governor H. Herman Deru, TNI Operations Chief Brigadier General Junaidi, Ogan Ilir Regent Panca Wijaya Akbar, PKS Parliamentary Faction Chairman Eko Asnan, Kodim 0402 Commander Major Ridwan Rohim, Special Criminal Division Head of Ogan Ilir Prosecutor’s Office Paul Dera Brata Sinulingga, and District Court Chairman Dody Rahmanto.

The programme opened with a Clean Indonesia roll call featuring flag honours, commander’s report, leadership address, prayer recital, and group photograph. Following the roll call, combined personnel moved into field operations including environmental cleanup, drainage arrangement, removal of wild vegetation, and repair of damaged or potholed roads at designated locations.

On this occasion, Regional Police Chief Sandi emphasised that the activities represented follow-up to directives from Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto. “Today we are implementing what the President has ordered, implementing the Clean Indonesia movement,” said Sandi.

Sandi explained that Polda Sumsel gave the movement a local identity through the Belida fish icon. “In South Sumatra we have our own distinctive characteristics, namely the Belida fish which we have made into an icon to create a different atmosphere, namely carrying out environmental cleanup and tidiness activities in South Sumatra, to support the President’s programme. Additionally, these activities also demonstrate Forkopimda synergy both at provincial and regency leadership levels, and this has already been implemented in 17 regencies and cities across South Sumatra,” he said.

The BELIDA programme targets areas that directly affect community comfort and safety, such as public spaces, office areas, schools, places of worship, rivers and drainage systems, and damaged or potholed roads. Beyond environmental cleanup, the activities are directed towards improving locations with potential accident risks, particularly ahead of increased public mobility during the Eid holiday travel period.
