Police Joint Team Seizes Evidence in Cipete Café Raid Linked to Major Corruption Cases
A joint team from the Indonesian National Police’s Corruption Eradication Corps (Kortas Tipidkor) and the Metro Jaya Regional Police raided a café in the Cipete area of Jakarta on Wednesday, 8 July 2026. During the search, officers seized a number of suitcases and safes as evidence. The operation is part of an investigation into alleged corruption in the coal supply chain involving state-owned enterprises PT PLN (Persero), PT Asabri (Persero), and PT Krakatau Steel. The cases are connected to a blackout incident under PLN’s management, alleged corruption at Asabri and Jiwasraya between 2020 and 2025, and suspected money laundering in the debt settlement process of PT CBS to PT KNI.
