Police Issue SP3 for Rismon Sianipar in Diploma Case, Jokowi: All Clear

Jakarta Metropolitan Police have issued a Termination of Investigation Order (SP3) for Rismon Sianipar in the case of allegations of a fake diploma. Indonesia’s 7th President, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), considers the issue to be under the investigators’ authority.

“Yes, that is the authority of Jakarta Metropolitan Police, the authority of the investigators,” said Jokowi when met at his residence in Sumber, Banjarsari, Surakarta (Solo), as reported by detikJateng on Monday (20/4/2026).

According to him, the issue with Rismon Sianipar is already settled. He declined to comment further on the matter.

“If it has been issued, it means everything is already clear, settled,” Jokowi stated.

Rismon was previously a suspect in the defamation case stemming from allegations of Jokowi’s fake diploma. However, the investigators decided to halt the case after achieving restorative justice.

The Head of Criminal Investigation at Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Senior Commissioner Iman Imanuddin, explained that the termination process occurred after Jokowi accepted Rismon’s apology. Rismon is known to have met Jokowi directly at his residence in Surakarta (Solo).

“Furthermore, the termination of the investigation against Mr. RHS does not nullify the investigation process against other suspects up to the court trial,” said Iman.
