Police involved in illegal logging
KENDARI, Southeast Sulawesi: Provincial police chief Insp. Gen. Indrato announced on Thursday that he would take strict action against police personnel found guilty of involvement in illegal logging activities in the province.
He was responding to the arrest of several officers who, along with 200 locals, were allegedly involved in illegal logging in Muna regency.
Indarto said police would be impartial in enforcing the law and, in this case, police officers would suffer more because, in addition to criminal prosecution, they could also face internal police force charges.
"We will investigate the case thoroughly," Indarto said. --Antara
