Video showed several vehicles moving zig-zag on the Becakayu Toll Road in East Jakarta, going viral on social media. The Metro Jaya Police’s Traffic Directorate (Ditlantas) is identifying the cars involved in the zig-zag driving on the toll road. ‘We have identified the vehicle(s) from CCTV cameras, and we have data corresponding to the registered licence numbers,’ said AKBP Reiki Indra Brata Manggala, head of the PJR Directorate of Ditlantas at Metro Jaya Police, on Friday (6 March 2026). He said Ditlantas is seeking the owners’ identities; officers will visit the drivers involved. ‘We will issue a verbal warning and provide educational guidance to the drivers,’ Reiki added. Through a verbal admonition, they hope such incidents will not recur. The zig-zag convoy is deemed disruptive and dangerous to other road users because it can affect their comfort. ‘Because it can disrupt the comfort of other road users,’ Reiki said. In the video circulating on social media, several vehicles can be seen performing zig-zag maneuvers across all lanes of the Bekasi-Cawang-Kampung Melayu (Becakayu) toll road in East Jakarta, preventing other vehicles from overtaking the convoy. The driving behaviour is considered highly risky and could trigger a multi-vehicle crash.
