The Tamansari Metro Police Station is investigating a viral social media video depicting a foreign national from Japan allegedly being offered child prostitution services. The incident reportedly occurred in the Tamansari area of West Jakarta.

The video gained attention after being uploaded by X user @hunter_tnok, who stated it originated from a Japanese man’s YouTube channel recorded in April 2026. In the footage, individuals suspected to be pimps repeatedly shout “Seventeen” and “Virgin” while offering services in an area referred to as Lokasari.

Tamansari Metro Police Chief Kompol Bobby M. Zulfikar confirmed that authorities have been tracking the allegations. The police are currently gathering evidence on the ground.

“This is still under investigation. There were two similar reports previously; a few weeks ago, we received a report which was later confirmed as unfounded due to insufficient evidence. The new video is still being probed and investigated further,” Bobby stated on Wednesday (27/5/2026).

Bobby clarified the location shown in the new video. According to investigators, the suspected prostitution site is not administratively within the Lokasari area.

“That is actually not part of Lokasari; it is in Mangga Besar. Lokasari has its own specific location,” Bobby explained.

To ensure public order and safety, Tamansari Police officers visited the site and collected statements from local authorities, including neighbourhood representatives (RT and RW) and management of the area.

“We have received statements from RT, RW, and Lokasari management confirming no such activities took place there. They reject the use of their area for prostitution and fully support the police in thoroughly investigating this matter,” he stated.

Bobby emphasised that the local management’s denial was based on police checks following the viral video. Despite the initial findings, the police will not close the case prematurely.

“RT and RW statements relate to the new video after our on-site check. To clarify, even though initial checks at Lokasari showed nothing, we are still proceeding with in-depth investigation based on the evidence in the video,” he concluded.

The Jakarta Provincial Government has implemented a zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of child sexual exploitation.

The West Jakarta Social Affairs and Child Protection Office (Sudin PPAPP) and Social Affairs Office (Sudin Sosial) are also investigating the alleged child prostitution in Lokasari.
