Police investigate the deaths of two foreign nationals in a Cengkareng apartment

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Police are investigating the cause of death of two foreign nationals found in an apartment in the Cengkareng Timur area, West Jakarta, on Monday evening (1 June).

The Head of Public Relations of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Commissioner Budi Hermanto, in a statement on Thursday, confirmed the discovery of three foreign nationals at the City Park Tower F apartment on the 3rd floor at around 9:00 PM.

“It is true that three foreign nationals were found. Of the three, two men, with the initials CD (27) and II (34), were declared dead,” said Budi.

Meanwhile, the other victim, also a man with the initials OSO (39), was found by officers unconscious and immediately evacuated to the nearest hospital for medical treatment.

“One person, with the initials OSO, was found unconscious, and is currently undergoing intensive care at the Buddha Tzu Chi Hospital,” said Budi.

He explained that based on the initial physical examination by the identification team, officers did not find any indication of violence on the bodies of the two victims who died.

However, police have not yet been able to conclude the exact cause of death of the two foreign nationals as they are still awaiting the results of a thorough medical examination.

“No signs of violence were found on the bodies of the two victims who died, but the investigation is still ongoing by the West Jakarta Metropolitan Police to ensure the exact cause of the incident,” said Budi.

Previously, a viral video circulated on the Instagram social media platform via the account @mandaawmnd, showing the situation and conditions in an apartment with a number of people lying down.

“Three Nigerian citizens were found in a terrible state in the City Park Apartment, Cengkareng, two were found dead in their bedroom and one in the living room was rescued, and is currently in hospital in a coma,” the account wrote.
