Police Investigate Security Guard Found Dead with Hands Cuffed in Jatiluhur Reservoir

Police are investigating the death of a security guard whose body was discovered in Jatiluhur Reservoir, Purwakarta Regency, with his hands cuffed behind his back. The victim was found by a colleague on Friday (24/7/2026) after being unreachable since the early hours of the morning. The case was immediately reported to the police. “During evacuation, the victim was found face down in the water. Officers also discovered that both of the victim’s hands were handcuffed behind his back,” said West Java Police Public Relations Head, Commissioner Hendra Rochmawan, on Saturday (25/7/2026). Police have since processed the crime scene, secured evidence, and taken witness statements. An autopsy is being conducted as Purwakarta Police continue a comprehensive investigation to determine the exact cause of death.
