Police Investigate Potential Additional Suspects in Case of Child Killed by Dog Attack

Police are continuing their investigation into the death of a nine-year-old child who was attacked by four boar-hunting dogs in Jasinga, Bogor, West Java. They are looking into the possibility of additional suspects. “We are still investigating because so far it has only pointed to one person suspected of being the owner of the dog that bit the victim,” said the Head of the Bogor Police’s PPA/PPO Unit, AKP Silfi Adi Putri, on Tuesday (9/6/2026). Police have named the dog owner as a suspect. During questioning, the owner claimed the dog was not vicious and had only attacked humans for the first time. “According to the owner’s statement, the dog is not vicious, is accustomed to being used for hunting, and has hurt a person for the first time. It had never previously chased people during a hunt,” she revealed. The victim died after being attacked by four boar-hunting dogs in Bogor. “At the time there were several dogs, but the one that could be identified was the dog belonging to the suspected perpetrator,” Silfi said.
