Police Investigate Pastor Reported for Filming Woman Bathing

Police are investigating an alleged case of sexual misconduct involving a pastor with the initials DPS, also known as David. He is suspected of recording a woman, identified as MM (21), while she was bathing at her home. The incident occurred in RT 02, Oelunggu Village, Lobalain District, Rote Ndao Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). “Indeed, a report has been filed and the case is under investigation,” Rote Ndao Police Chief AKBP Mardiono told detikBali on Tuesday (9/6/2026). The incident began when MM was taking a morning bath at around 06:00 WITA on 10 May. While bathing, MM heard a sound from the direction of the bathroom door. Upon checking, it appeared David was recording the victim through the bathroom vent. Realising what had happened, MM immediately scolded the perpetrator. However, David then asked MM not to inform her neighbours or family about the incident. It turned out MM was not the only one who had been recorded bathing. MM revealed that her younger sibling, JVM (15), had also been subjected to similar treatment by David. Feeling harassed, a furious MM reported the case to the Rote Ndao Police on Saturday (30 May). MM stated she felt ashamed and aggrieved by the act. The case is currently still under investigation. Police have taken statements from both siblings, MM and JVM. “It was just reported on Saturday (30 May) and will be processed according to applicable law,” said Mardiono.
