Police Investigate Padel Court Project in Permata Hijau Following Residents' Complaints
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Police are investigating the construction of a padel court project that has drawn complaints from residents in the Permata Hijau area, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta.
This follow-up action was taken after the South Jakarta Metropolitan Police received a report referral from the Jakarta Metropolitan Police.
“We from the South Jakarta Police have received a report referral from the Jakarta Metropolitan Police. We are now conducting an on-site inspection to assess the situation,” said the Head of Public Relations of the South Jakarta Police, AKBP Murodih, when met by Kompas.com at the South Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Thursday (February 26, 2026).
“We will then conduct an investigation based on the results of the on-site inspection. We will also request statements from witnesses who can provide supporting evidence,” he said.
Regarding the general complaints about noise from padel courts in South Jakarta, the Police can only take action if there is a formal report. So far, only one report has been received and referred.
“If there is a report from the community about this issue, we will follow up,” said Murodih.
Previously, the Jakarta Metropolitan Police stated that it had referred the handling of the residents’ report to the South Jakarta Metropolitan Police for further processing.
“The Jakarta Metropolitan Police has referred the handling of the case to the South Jakarta Metropolitan Police for further processing,” said the Head of Public Relations of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Kombes Pol Budi Hermanto.
The report is registered under the number LP/B/863/II/2026/SPKT/Jakarta Metropolitan Police.
The residents’ lawyer, Teddy, previously explained that his client, ANB, took legal action after mediation efforts failed to yield results.
“We have been mediated several times by the Head of Grogol Utara sub-district, but there was no action taken. As a result, we finally filed a report,” said Teddy to Kompas.com, Tuesday (February 24, 2026).
The residents reported the disturbance caused by the construction of the padel court in Permata Hijau.
ANB stated that he was disturbed by the noise from the construction work, which he said often lasted until late at night.
