Police investigate man allegedly thrown from the second floor in West Jakarta
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Jakarta Metropolitan Police are investigating an incident in which a man was allegedly thrown from the second floor of the Grogol Market in West Jakarta (Jakbar), on 10 May 2026, at around 02:00 WIB.
The Head of Public Relations of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Commissioner Budi Hermanto, stated on Saturday that the victim, identified as DM, is a resident of Palmerah, West Jakarta.
“Regarding the information that the victim was thrown from the second floor, this is still under investigation,” said Budi.
However, he confirmed that the victim allegedly experienced a gang attack in the jurisdiction of the Grogol Petamburan Police Station, West Jakarta.
“The victim experienced this incident in the Weston area or Grogol Market and was then taken to Tarakan Hospital,” said Budi.
Based on initial testimony from several witnesses, he said the incident began with a commotion at the scene, which then continued to the second floor of the Grogol Market.
“The victim is suspected of being attacked by several people, then fell to the ground floor and lost consciousness,” said Budi.
Previously, a video circulated on the Instagram social media account @balewartawanjakpus10, showing a man in a hospital, who is allegedly a victim of a gang attack in West Jakarta.
The account also stated that the victim was reportedly trying to stop a fight between his girlfriend and another woman at the location, but he was attacked by a group of teenagers, numbering more than 15 people.
The victim is also said to have been subjected to a gang attack and thrown from the second floor. The attack on the victim continued after he was thrown from the second floor, where he was then kicked and punched by a number of teenagers.
