Police Investigate Fatal Accident on Jalan Lauser

Jakarta - Police are handling a case involving a fatal accident that killed a female motorcyclist, identified by the initials UASM (23), on Jalan Lauser, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, on Tuesday at 6.30 a.m. Western Indonesian Time. “We secured the crime scene, but the accident is being investigated by the South Jakarta Police Traffic Unit,” said Kebayoran Baru Police Chief AKBP Nugrahadi Kusuma when contacted in Jakarta on Tuesday. He stated that the case is currently being handled by the Traffic Accident Unit of the South Jakarta Metropolitan Police. The victim has been taken to the nearest hospital for further procedures. “Yes, she has been evacuated and taken to the hospital, according to the information,” Nugrahadi said. According to the police report, the victim lost control while trying to avoid another motorcycle that was attempting to make a sudden turn. The victim tried to swerve but lost control and fell, ending up under a truck belonging to the DKI Jakarta Parks and Urban Forestry Sub-department. “As a result, the victim was run over by the right rear wheel of the moving truck. The victim died at the scene and was immediately taken to Fatmawati Hospital,” Nugrahadi explained.
