Police Investigate Family Photos Seized Alongside 74 kg of Gold and Nearly Half a Trillion Rupiah in Sentul Raid
Police are still investigating family photos found during a search of a house in the Parahyangan Golf 2 area, Sentul, Bogor Regency, West Java. The photographs were discovered alongside other evidence, including 74 kilograms of gold bars and cash in various currencies valued at an estimated Rp476 billion.
The head of the National Police’s Corruption Eradication Corps (Kortastipidkor), Inspector General Totok Suharyanto, stated that investigators have not yet been able to determine the relevance of the findings as the inquiry is ongoing. “It is currently being investigated, please give us time,” Totok said at Metro Jaya Police Headquarters on Thursday, 9 July 2026.
The house search is part of a joint investigation by the National Police’s Kortastipidkor and the Metro Jaya Police’s Special Criminal Investigation Directorate into alleged corruption, bribery, and money laundering related to a coal case, the PT Asabri scandal, and several other cases under investigation.
The search operation lasted from Wednesday, 8 July 2026, until the early hours of Thursday. During the process, investigators found a safe hidden behind a wood-panelled wall. When the safe was opened, they discovered seven suitcases containing gold bars and cash in rupiah, US dollars, and Singapore dollars.
“A locked safe was found; after it was opened, it contained seven suitcases. The first contained 74 kilograms of gold bars, then USD 4,767,300, SGD 14,083,800, and Rp100 million. The total estimate in rupiah is Rp476 billion,” he said.
In addition to seizing the assets of fantastic value, investigators also secured a number of documents, mobile phones, and family photographs believed to be linked to the homeowner or the owner of the items inside the safe. “We will proceed with the seizure of the evidence,” he stated.
Police have not yet revealed the identity of the homeowner or explained the connection of the family photographs found during the search. Investigators are continuing to probe the relationship between all the evidence and the cases under investigation.
