Metro Jaya Police have examined the Head of Operations Control Centre (Kapusdal Ops) for KAI Daop 1 Jakarta regarding the case of the collision between the long-distance train Argo Bromo Anggrek and a KRL at Bekasi Timur Station. One aspect being delved into concerns the early warning system or voice logger.

“We have stated that there was an examination of the Kapusdal Daop 1 regarding the railway operations on that day. From the beginning of the incident until the temper between the electric train and the online taxi,” said the Head of Public Relations for Metro Jaya Police, Commissioner Budi Hermanto, to reporters at Metro Jaya Police Headquarters on Friday (8/5/2026).

“After that, there was an electric train queuing because an accident had occurred, which was then tempered again by the Argo Bromo Anggrek train,” he continued.

Police are still investigating the early warning system (green signal), voice logger, or information conveyed by the supervisor from the tower to the Argo Bromo train. Whether there was or was not information regarding the collision in front of that train.

“Well, this is still being delved into whether it relates to the early warning system or voice logger or information conveyed from the supervisor in the tower to the Argo Bromo train, whether they had received the information or not. If there was an accident ahead and the train was stopped. There were two trains, one involved in the accident and one stopped. This is still under investigation,” he explained.

He stated that police are also investigating the train journey regulator regarding the green signal for the Argo Bromo Anggrek train. “Likewise, regarding the train journey regulator, Mr SM, this is also still being investigated regarding the green signal. The witness gave a green signal to Train Argo Bromo Anggrek Number 4B passing through the Tambun area. Well, this is also still being investigated by the Forensic Laboratory, investigators, and the KNKT,” he said.

Budi stated that, according to the Green SM side, every 15,000 km, the taxi vehicle must undergo maintenance at the depot for servicing. However, the taxi involved in the incident had not undergone maintenance after 24,000 km.

“We also convey that regarding information from the operational depot manager, this taxi should have entered the depot for maintenance or servicing every 15,000 km. But up to 24,000 km, maintenance had not been done,” he explained.

“Well, we are still investigating whether the earlier question, the electric vehicle dying at the level crossing, is an impact of not having undergone maintenance. Well, we are still conducting an assessment,” he concluded.
