Police Investigate Drone-Delivered Grenade Replica Terror at Lawyer's Home in Depok
A lawyer named Martin was terrorised by an unknown perpetrator who used a drone to drop a replica grenade at his home in Bojongsari, Depok. The incident occurred on Sunday (6/7/2026).
‘We have checked with the Gegana team, and it was a toy shaped like a grenade,’ said Depok Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKBP Made Gede Oka Utama to reporters at the Depok Metro Police Headquarters on Tuesday (7/7/2026).
Made stated that the victim had also previously received threats via WhatsApp messages. Following the drone incident, the victim reported it to the police. ‘The chronology is that the victim allegedly received threats via text message. Then, finally, this was also sent, as you have witnessed,’ he said.
Three witnesses have been examined by the police, and officers are still investigating the perpetrator of the terror. ‘We have examined the victim and three new witnesses. We are still investigating the victim. As I mentioned earlier, the victim suspects this is because there was a disagreement with one or more persons,’ Made explained.
Separately, Martin explained the chronology of the event. He said the incident began when an object fell in his yard. ‘The object was a drone that was tied up. On the drone, there was a replica grenade and a piece of paper with a message that read, “This is just the beginning,”’ Martin told reporters.
Martin suspects the terror is related to a legal case he is currently handling. The case concerns a land dispute in West Jakarta. ‘We convey that this is a series of events related to a legal matter we are handling. Namely, a plot of land in the West Jakarta area, specifically on Jalan Arjuna,’ he said.
‘Currently, we, as the legal representatives of the heirs, are taking control of or reclaiming the land that belongs to the heirs,’ Martin added. He also confirmed that prior to the drone incident, he had received threats via WhatsApp.
