Police investigate car fire at South Tangerang petrol station

Police from the Ciputat Timur sector responded swiftly to a vehicle fire at a petrol station on Jalan WR Supratman, Cempaka Putih, South Tangerang, on Monday morning. The incident was reported via the National Police’s 110 call centre at around 5.10 a.m. local time. Ciputat Timur Police Chief Kompol Bambang Askar Sodiq stated that officers immediately proceeded to the location to secure the area and conduct an investigation. According to the police account, the grey Toyota Kijang minibus with registration number B 1954 UP had just finished refuelling when flames suddenly erupted from the vehicle as it was about to exit the station. The driver, identified as H, sustained burns over nearly his entire body and was promptly evacuated for medical treatment. By the time officers arrived at approximately 5.35 a.m., the fire had been extinguished and the situation around the petrol station was under control. Police have processed the crime scene, recorded witness statements, and compiled documentation to determine the exact cause of the fire. Kompol Bambang urged the public to regularly check their vehicles to ensure they are roadworthy before travelling and reminded citizens to use the 110 emergency call centre in urgent situations.
